About

Kansas has been my home for all but the first two years of my life. I grew up in the Kansas City area, attended Kansas State University and received a BFA in Graphic Design. Later in life, I attended Ottawa University and completed my teacher's certification in Art K-12. After teaching art at Spring Hill Middle School for 8 years, I left public education in 2002 to concentrate on my own art and provide private art instruction.

I was first introduced to working with clay in high school, the basis of most of my training. Revisiting this medium after many years of absence, has been challenging, but very rewarding. Influenced by my design background, I use a variety of hand-building techniques and the potter's wheel to create pieces, with an emphasis on texture, line and pattern. I am also influenced/inspired by nature and it's many wonders.
